Great bird toy
This is exactly what I expect from Super Bird. I feel the medium size has the right parts for my three green cheek conures. They are around 70 grams each, so larger than a parakeet, smaller than a senegal. They love destroying sea grass mats. I just put it in as soon as it arrived, and within 2 hours, they have already been climbing all over it and chewing on it. This is the one I would definitely buy again.
We bought this product a while back, in November of 2014 for our parrot's "Christmas" present and it is still in his cage today as of January 2016! It's sturdy and also acts like a "privacy screen" on the top portion of his cage, which he loves. Despite parrots being "tamed" animals, they are still very wild genetically and are used to some degree of privacy, hence the burrowing of some parrot species in sides of caves or trees. Some parrot species need a certain degree of "dark time" or "private time" which means they can simulate going in and out of their "cave" or tree hole during the day and this toy really provides a nice screen. When our bird yells, we know he wants to be covered, so we cover his cage with light weight dark blankets that allow air flow and he's happy but this toy is a nice "half-way" cage divider for some light privacy (was well as a toy).
I have a cockatiel, green cheek conure and budgie - all three of them LOVE this activity mat. They chew the sisal to bits and play with the various hanging toys. I always make sure one of these is in each of their cages when I go away on weekends or vacation so they are occupied. This is one of their favorite toys for sure. NOTE: There is a smaller sized version for the budgie.
After a little tweaking for Budgies, I'm happy to report this grass mat "wall" is a hit. They spend a lot of time exploring it. I'm buying another to make a tunnel sort of thing for them. The toys on it were a bit overwhelming so I changed them out for small shiny things the Budgie Bros are fond of. They love it!
