Morning Bird Mood Food is a targeted supplement formulated to promote calmness and reduce behavioral stress without causing drowsiness. Powered by L-Theanine, a naturally occurring amino acid found in green tea, it helps support a calm, balanced demeanor.
KEY BENEFITS:
  • Gentle Stress Reduction: L-Theanine works directly on the brain by promoting the production of calming alpha brain waves and boosting levels of neurotransmitters like GABA. This helps your bird feel relaxed and focused, not sedated.
  • Reduces Anxiety Behaviors: Helps mitigate stress-induced behaviors such as feather destruction (picking/plucking), screaming, pacing, and aggression.
  • Nervous System Support: Vitamin B-6 is essential for the proper synthesis and metabolism of calming neurotransmitters, optimizing L-Theanine's efficacy.
  • Improves Well-being: Ideal for use during stressful periods like moving, introducing new birds, vet visits, etc.

Really helped our birds with adjustment and travelling -

This really helps our birds. They have had a lot of upheaval the past two years and when traveling, I have used this to help keep their mood as stable as possible. Definitely helped with the screeching. Only had to use it a few times and they calmed right down. For reference- two cockatiels and a brown throated conure. Small container but great value for the size.

Effective but don’t put in water bowl!

It works, but please don’t put it in the water bowl! If your bird bathes in it, the sugar will bind their feathers together and made them miserable and sticky. Luckily my bird is okay after a good rinse and some sunlight. She’s still preening it out after 3 hours. But! She’s the calmest she’s ever been

Takes time but works well

This is one of those things that you don't see an immediate effect but over time it is noticeable. I give it to my older blue and gold macaw who has started feather picking in her middle age (she's in her late 20s). It does reduce the behavior. She doesn't seem to mind it sprinkled on her wet food or even mixed into water. I do offer two bowls of water-mixed and fresh and she drinks from both. It dissolves very easily and seems consistent in quality. It's really easy to use, and is not clumpy. It is pretty expensive though, but worth it to help her not pick at herself.

Testing on Anxious Conure

Currently using on a GCC and two budgies, but will be focusing on the conure because he is the one with anxiety. He likes the flavor of the powder and licks it off his food. Easy for application and I appreciate that the can comes with dosage charts. Not giving 5 stars because I'm waiting for long term results.IT IS IMPORTANT TO FIND OUT WHY YOUR BIRD IS ANXIOUS. This won't cure anxiety or screaming. I have positive results because I paired this powder alongside changes to his enclosure and providing enriching toys and food, proper sleep scheduling, and playing gentle music. This product is an effective tool, but not a 1 size fits all cure.

What to help with hormonal parrots?

I have a couple of female Great Billed Parrots and the younger one has been hormonal for about 6 months now, especially with screaming. This stuff had a good effect from the first day! Still the occasional screaming a week later but much better. I just sprinkle the recommended amount on her food (wet or dry) and she seems to like it.
